Welcome to the Reading Ways Literacy Resource Hub. These Terms of Service govern your use of the forum. By accessing or using this forum, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Your Permission to Use the Forum

You are granted limited, revocable permission to use the forum, provided you follow these Terms and any associated community guidelines or licensing conditions.

Conditions for Use of the Forum

  1. You must be at least 13 years old.
  2. You may no longer use the forum if we notify you that your access is revoked.
  3. You must comply with the Acceptable Use and Content Standards below.

Acceptable Use

You may not:

  • Violate laws or intellectual property rights
  • Access another person’s account without permission
  • Send spam, promotions, or solicitations
  • Misrepresent your affiliation with Reading Ways
  • Overload the system or use bots to access the forum
  • Share harmful, illegal, or confidential materials
  • Circumvent security restrictions
  • Encourage or assist others to violate these Terms

Content Standards

You may not post content that is:

  • Illegal, abusive, threatening, hateful, or harassing
  • Infringing on copyright or trademarks
  • In violation of privacy or contractual obligations
  • Malware, spam, or deceptive
  • Meant solely to reserve usernames or links

We may remove or restrict content at our discretion and will act on reports that violate these standards.

Your Account

To use some features, you must register an account with a valid email address. You are responsible for your account’s security and any actions taken through it. Notify us immediately if your account is compromised.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

Content You Upload

You retain ownership of the content you submit, but you grant Reading Ways a non-exclusive, worldwide license to store, display, and share your content within the platform and with other users, for educational and service delivery purposes.

You may not upload content unless:

  • You are the creator
  • You have explicit permission to share it
  • It is not restricted by third-party rights

Resource Licensing

To support sharing and collaboration while respecting authorship and effort, Reading Ways uses a two-tier licensing system for all downloadable resources: Standard and Premium. You may adapt and share resources with your students under both licenses, but neither may be used for commercial purposes. Resources are marked with an SL (Standard License) or PL (Premium License) icon in the bottom right corner to indicate their license type.

  • Standard License: Our most flexible option. You may photocopy, adapt, and share these materials freely with students and colleagues. Maintaining identifying symbols or branding is appreciated but not mandatory.
  • Premium License: This license includes stricter conditions aligned with standard copyright practices. While redistribution is not permitted, you are welcome to adapt the materials and display or photocopy them for your students in classroom or professional development settings. Attribution and preservation of branding are required.

Reading Ways may take enforcement action, including account suspension, in response to license violations or copyright infringement notices.

Responsibility

You are responsible for any legal claims that result from your use of the forum or content you submit. This includes costs arising from copyright violations, privacy breaches, or misuse of Reading Ways services.

Disclaimers

Reading Ways provides the forum “as is.” We make no guarantees of error-free functionality or outcomes, and we are not responsible for content posted by others.

Limits on Liability

To the extent allowed by law, Reading Ways’ liability is limited to $50 for any claims related to your use of the forum. We are not liable for lost data, revenue, or damages caused by misuse of content or services.

Termination

You may close your account at any time by contacting build@readingways.org. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms.

Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware.

You and Reading Ways agree to resolve disputes through binding arbitration held in Delaware, except in cases involving injunctions or intellectual property. You waive rights to join or initiate class action lawsuits.

General Terms

  • If any provision is unenforceable, the rest still applies.
  • You may not assign your rights under these Terms.
  • These Terms are the complete agreement regarding the forum.
  • Our failure to enforce a term is not a waiver.
